Description

New research from The Girls’ Index shows us that girls’ confidence declines 26% between 5th-9th grade and doesn’t return to pre-middle school levels. One in three girls report being afraid to be a leader for fear that others might think she is bossy and nearly half are afraid to speak their mind or disagree with others because they want to be liked. What is impacting girls during adolescence and what can adults do to create more accessible and empowering experiences so girls can fully actualize their potential? What continues to impact women on their leadership trajectories and how can we cultivate the female leaders of tomorrow? Sharing new data analyses from surveys with nearly 11,000 girls, Dr. Lisa Hinkelman will reveal insights that illuminate the complex challenges facing girls’ post-secondary, career and leadership paths.

Learn current statistics and results of the latest research analysis from THE GIRLS’ INDEX: NEW INSIGHTS INTO THE COMPLEX WORLD OF TODAY’S GIRLS - the largest survey on the attitudes, perceptions, behaviors and thoughts of adolescent girls in the United States - and relevant approaches and evidence-based strategies to directly address the biggest challenges impacting girls in school today.

You will also hear what is launching in Boston to help create generations of confident girls who control their own relatiosnships, experiences, decisions and futures!
